Summary

The original concept for this interactive map was designed by Christian Beck and Craig Birchler, working for Traditional Arts Indiana (TAI), a non-profit housed in Indiana University's Folklore and Ethnomusicology department. I was hired onto the project in late 2006, and immediately began assisting with UI design and prototyping. In the summer of 2007, I took over as lead designer and developed the current beta version, including a user-friendly back-end allowing TAI folklorists to effectively manage content. Currently, I am busy conducting ethnographic interviews with various stakeholders in order to clarify a vision for the intended user experience.
